Special Events Coordinator

Dallas, Texas:

The Special Events Coordinator will manage and coordinate local and state tennis tournaments and international Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and/or United States Tennis Association (USTA) professional tournaments. In addition, they will coach and develop tennis training programs.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the planning and execution of the tournaments by developing and achieving agreed-upon fundraising goals by soliciting new and past sponsors for events
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for tournament events.
  • Overseeing all tournament preparation (including communication, scheduling, set-up), tournament registration preparation, and tournament check-in
  • Preparing, updating, and finalizing all event function sheets for smooth coordination between staff, registrants, venues and vendors for all operations (set-up, teardown, security, etc) ensuring a positive experience for sponsors, guests, and participants.
  • Developing and coordinating all public relations and marketing material to community outlets, partners, club members, and staffing professionals.
  • Coach and develop safe, professional and comprehensive tennis lessons and programs for players ranging from beginners up to world class players.
  • Monitor, demonstrate, and instruct students & players on proper techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve their overall tennis game, therefore ensuring students understand tennis rules, scoring procedures, safety rules and tennis etiquette.
40 hours a week, Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary and some weekends required.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, management, marketing, or related field, and three (3) years experience coordinating professional tennis tournaments or playing tennis at the professional and/or collegiate level required. 15% travel required within the state of Texas.
